Choosing Epic Cracow,
our Customers get a guarantee of enjoyable holidays.
Kazimierz is a district of Cracow, which cannot be missed when visiting this extraordinary city. It impresses everyone with its charming streets and historical buildings. Until the 19th century, Kazimierz was an independent city. Its north-eastern part was occupied by the Jewish community. It is here, where the cultures of Jews and Christians meddled.
Currently, Kazimierz is an important tourist attraction in Krakow. Some of the monuments are especially worth visiting such as Corpus Christi and Saint Catherine churches, synagogues, town hall on Wolnica square or the industrial architecture complex on St. Wawrzyńca street, called the quarter of Saint. Lawrence.
A “must-see” objects when visiting Kazimierz are the synagogues at Szeroka Street. They host the Judaic collections of the Historical Museum of the City of Cracow. One of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in Poland and Europe – Remuh is located nearby. In the same street there was also a mikvah – a ritual bathhouse.
The monuments located in Kazimierz are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
